Men's Golf Shoots 287 On Final Day of Butler Invite

INDIANAPOLIS - After getting off to a rocky start at the Butler Fall Invite, the Marian men's golf team finished the event with a score of 287 on Tuesday, aiding their fifth place finish in the event. Marian shot a 305 in both the first and second round on Monday before their 287 today, giving them a total score of 897. All Marian golfers scored 75 or under on Tuesday, a big show of improvement after Monday's play.


Bradley Sprinkle was the top golfer for the Knights over the two-day, three-round event at Highland Country Club. Sprinkle finished in a tie for 15th, after shooting a 77+76+69=222. Sprinkle was one of three golfers to shoot an "eagle" in the tournament, while also parring 34 holes. 

Travis Sterrett finished tied for 17th over the two days, shooting a 72+80+71=223. Nate Kolter had the next best score for Marian, as he shot a 83+72+72=227 giving him a finish of tied for 22nd. Michael Walters shot a 73+82+75=230, as he finished tied for 32nd. Walters made par on 36 holes, making him tied for fifth best overall. Addison Greenwell rounded out the Knights team, improving his score every round as he shot a 85+77+75=237 placing him 44th overall.
