HANOVER, Ind. - The Marian University men's tennis team continued its strong season with an 8-1 win over Hanover College in Hanover, Ind., on Monday afternoon.

The Knights moved to 8-2 on the season and are 6-1 in Crossroads League play.

Freshman Ryan Heuer earned his third win of the season at No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3, while freshman Jason Denton moved to 6-2 on the year with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Freshman Jack Hiatt remained undefeated with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles. He is now 9-0 in 2012 with a 7-0 mark at No. 6 and 1-0 marks at No. 5 and No. 2 singles.

Junior Nicholas Batuello earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles to move to 2-0 in 2012, while freshman Taylor Kinney also moved to 2-0 with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles. Sophomore Willie Jansen picked up his first singles win of 2012 with a 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.

The duo of Batuello and Denton earned a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles, while junior Ryan Hodell and Jansen earned an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles. Heuer and Kinney fell at No. 2 doubles, 6-8, for the Panthers' only victory of the match.

The Knights are in a three-way tie for the top spot in the Crossroads League. MU will take on Indiana Wesleyan University (9-1; 6-1 CL) for seeding in the league tournament on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
