INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head women's tennis coach Cassie Mackell is proud to announce the commitment of Paige Swan for the 2014-15 season.

Swan, who will graduate from Yorktown High School this coming spring, is an AP Scholar Award winner who also has earned an academic excellence award and will graduate with an academic honors diploma. She is the second commitment for MU women's tennis for the 2014-15 season.

"I chose Marian University because I fell in love with the campus and the overall atmosphere of the university," said Swan. "It was easy to see myself there studying nursing, playing tennis and making memories that will last a lifetime."

"I'm excited to have Paige join our MU tennis family," said Mackell, the 2013-14 Crossroads League Coach of the Year. "Paige's passion for tennis is exactly what we look for. I am excited about her joining our program and pushing our team to be better."

In addition to her academic prowess, Swan served as the team captain at Yorktown and was named academic all-conference. She earned three varsity letters in her time at Yorktown High School.

She joins Audrey Rang as the first two commits for the 2014-15 season of MU women's tennis. MU finished the 2013 league season with a 10-3 overall record and a 7-1 mark in league play. MU earned a berth in the league tournament championship for the third straight season.
