INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's tennis team opened its 2009 season with an emphatic 9-0 win over Calumet College of St. Joseph, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the Marian University Tennis Courts.
Freshman
Andrew Voss (West Lafayette, Ind./West Lafayette) sailed through in straight sets with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. It was his first collegiate victory.
Junior
Brice Fairchild (New Castle, Ind./Tri) continued his winning ways as he won in straight sets at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.

Brad Mustin (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) blew through his opponent in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 3 singles, while freshman
Will Dixon (Jeffersonville, Ind./Our Lady of Providence) earned a straight-set win at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0, for his first collegiate victory.
Senior
Stedman Carmony (Arlington, Ind./Greenfield) picked up the victory at No. 5 singles, 6-1, 6-0, while senior
Jeff Graf (Sunman, Ind./East Central) won at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-0, to round out the singles sweep.
Junior
Aaron Wilder (Decatur, Ind./Bellmont) and freshman
Kyle Luckiewicz (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) earned an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles, while sophomore
Matt Hostetler (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) and senior
Joe Nelson (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) won 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
Junior
Zach Davis (Fairborn, Ohio/Fairborn) and sophomore
Austin Hall (Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran) rounded out the sweep with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles.
The Knights open the Mid-Central College Conference season on Saturday when they head to Marion, Ind., to battle Indiana Wesleyan University. The match is slated for 11 a.m.
