SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The Marian University women's tennis team blew through Spring Arbor University on Tuesday afternoon, 9-0, to improved to 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in Mid-Central College Conference play.
Freshman
Paola Usina (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) picked up the victory at No. 1 singles, 6-3, 6-0, while freshman
Tiffany Schendel (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) picked up the win at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-4. The duo teamed for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles as well.
Junior
Dana Reynolds (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) won her match at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5), while sophomore
Alyson O'Conner (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) won at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 6-2. The tandem won their match at No. 2 doubles, 8-4.
Sophomore
Maria Berry (Madison, Ind./Shawe Memorial) won her match at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-0, while junior
Alyssa Richard (Madison, Ind./Shawe Memorial) won her match at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Berry teamed with freshman
Amy Nocton (Williamsburg, Ind./Northeastern) for a 9-8 (7-2) win at No. 3 doubles to secure the shutout.
The Knights head to Bourbonnais, Ill., on Thursday to take on perennial power Olivet Nazarene at 1 p.m.
