ANDERSON, Ind. - The Marian University women's tennis team continued its hot streak as it picked up a shutout win at Anderson University on Thursday afternoon.
The Knights won their fourth straight match to improve to 5-1 on the season.
Freshman
Paola Usina (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) brought her record to 5-0 on the season after she won her match at No. 1 singles in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1. She also teamed with freshman
Tiffany Schendel (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
Schendel won her match at No. 3 singles to improve to 5-1 on the campaign. She won her match in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.
Junior
Dana Reynolds (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) won her match at No. 2 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0, and teamed with sophomore
Alyson O'Conner (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) at No. 2 doubles for an 8-3 win.
Sophomore M
aria Berry (Madison, Ind./Shawe Memorial) won her match at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0, and teamed with freshman
Alyssa Richard (Madison, Ind./Shawe Memorial) for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.
Richard moved to No. 5 for the afternoon and earned a 6-1, 4-6, 10-3 victory.
Freshman
Casey DeLucenay (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart) won her first collegiate match in straight sets, 7-5, 6-0, to round out the shutout.
The Knights play host to the University of St. Francis (Ind.) on Saturday at the Marian University Tennis Courts. The match is slated for 11 a.m.
