CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Three Marian University women's tennis players are competing at the 2009 Wilson/ITA Regional Championships in Cedarville, Ohio, and are performing well in search of an individual national tournament berth.

Freshman Paola Usina (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) and junior Dana Reynolds (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) both moved into the quarterfinals as they won their first two matches in the championship flight.

Usina won her first round match over Sarah Billman from Taylor University in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. Reynolds won her first round match over Brooke Johnson from Cedarville University, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4, to move to the second round.

Reynolds defeated Kaiti Marsh from Taylor University in the second round, 3-6, 6-3, 10-3 to head to Friday morning's quarterfinals.

Usina defeated Jamie Hilborn from the University of Northwestern Ohio in straight sets, 6-0, 6-1, to also move into the quarterfinals on Friday.

Freshman Tiffany Schendel (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) was defeated in her first round match, 2-6, 0-6, by Kristin Goeke from Taylor University. However, she won her second round match, 6-3, 6-1, to move into the consolation flight quarterfinals.

Schendel and Usina defeated Graham and Marschke from Davenport University, 8-0, to move into the quarterfinals of the doubles championship.

The Knights get back on the court on Friday morning as they seek a berth in the semifinal round.
