INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's tennis team fell to Taylor University, 8-1, at West Indy Racquet Club on Thursday afternoon.
 
The lone victory for the Knights came at No. 2 doubles as junior Brad Mustin (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) and freshman Andrew Voss (West Lafayette, Ind./West Lafayette) came away with an 8-6 victory.
 
Neither player was quite as successful in their singles matches as Mustin fell at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 1-6, 2-6, while Voss fell at No. 2 singles, 3-6, 3-6.
 
Junior Brice Fairchild (New Castle, Ind./Tri) faced the ultimate test as he took on defending NAIA national champion Felipe Bedon at No. 1 singles. Bedon proved too strong as he defeated Fairchild, 6-0, 6-1.
 
Fairchild and freshman Will Dixon (Jeffersonville, Ind./Our Lady of Providence) fell at No. 1 doubles, 8-9 (7-9), while Dixon dropped his match at No. 4 singles, 4-6, 5-7.
 
Senior Stedman Carmony (Arlington, Ind./Greenfield) fell at No. 5 singles, 0-6, 1-6, while freshman Kyle Luckiewicz (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) dropped his match at No. 6 singles, 2-6, 4-6.
 
Seniors Jeff Graf (Sunman, Ind./East Central) and Joe Nelson (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) fell at No. 3 doubles, 6-8.
 
The Knights fell to 2-5 overall and1-3 in Mid-Central College Conference play.
 
They travel to Goshen, Ind., on Saturday for an MCC matchup with the Maple Leafs. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
