INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University women's tennis team wrapped up third place in the Mid-Central College Conference and the Knights defeated Bethel College, 9-0, at the Marian University Tennis Courts on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman
Paola Usina (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) continued her fantastic run this season as she blew through her opponent at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-1. Usina has not lost in MCC play this season. She also teamed with freshman
Tiffany Schendel (Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles.
Schendel was also victorious at No. 3 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
Junior
Dana Reynolds (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) won her match at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-4, and teamed with sophomore
Alyson O'Conner (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) for an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.
O'Conner also won her match at No. 5 singles, 6-4, 6-0.
Sophomore
Maria Berry (Madison, Ind./Shawe Memorial) teamed with freshman
Amy Nocton (Williamsburg, Ind./Northeastern) for an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles. Berry also won her match at No. 4 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0.
Junior
Alyssa Richard (Madison, Ind./Shawe Memorial) earned a straight-sets victory at No. 6 singles, 6-3, 6-1, to shut out the Pilots.
Freshman
Casey DeLucenay (Elkhart, Ind./Elkhart Memorial) earned a shutout win in exhibition singles action, 8-0.
The Knights closed the MCC season with a 6-2 record and improved to 10-2 on the season.
They take on Franklin College at the Marian University Tennis Courts on Wednesday. The match is slated for 4 p.m.
