INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's tennis team has officially
earned itself a winning streak. The Knights won their third straight
match on Wednesday afternoon, 9-0, over Franklin College at the Marian
University Tennis Courts.
Junior
Brice Fairchild (New Castle, Ind./Tri) earned a straight-sets win at No. 1 singlse, 7-5, 6-2, while he teamed with freshman
Will Dixon (Jeffersonville, Ind./Our Lady of Providence) for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles.
Dixon won his match at No. 4 singles in three sets, 4-6, 6-0, 1-0 (0).
Junior
Brad Mustin (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) and freshman
Andrew Voss (West Lafayette, Ind./West Lafayette) earned an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles. Mustin won his match at No. 3 singles in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, while Voss was also a straight-sets victor at No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-1.
Senior
Stedman Carmony (Arlington, Ind./Greenfield) earned a straight-sets win at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-2, while freshman
Kyle Luckiewicz (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) won his match at No. 6 singles in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
Seniors
Jeff Graf (Sunman, Ind./East Central) and
Joe Nelson (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) won their match at No. 3 doubles, 8-4, to secure the 9-0 shutout.
The Knights are now 5-5 on the season and head to Winona Lake, Ind., on Saturday for a key matchup with Grace College. The match is a rescheduled match and will start at 1 p.m.
