ST. LOUIS - The Marian University men's golf team earned a ninth-place finish out of 19 teams at the ultra-competitive Lindenwood Invitational at Crescent Farms Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
The Knights had their string of sub-300 rounds snapped, but played well in a highly-competitive field.
Freshman
Trey Pfund (Clarksville, Ind./Our Lady of Providence) was the team's high finisher after he finished in ninth place. He carded a 54-hole total of 229 (78-75-76) and finished seven shots behind the winner.
Freshman
Preston Smith (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) earned a tie for 29th place after he carded a three-round total of 235 (77-79-79), while sophomore
Sean Jones (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) carded a 239 (80-83-76) to earn a tie for 45th place.
Senior
Luke Weber (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County) finished tied for 94th place after he carded a 253 (80-85-88).
The Knights head to the Lindsey Wilson Invitational in Burkesvile, Ky., on October 13 and 14 to close the fall season.
