HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Marian University women's volleyball team defeated Huntington for the second time in two weeks on Saturday afternoon in a thrilling five-set affair, 21-25, 25-11, 24-26, 25-20, 15-12. The Knights improved to 13-5 with the victory.
Sophomore
Brittany Miller (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central) led the way for the Knights after she tallied a double-double on the afternoon. Miller notched at team-high 13 kills and a team-high 22 digs.
Senior
Rachel Klene (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) notched 11 kills and had four block assists, while freshman
Ashley Francis (Avon, Ind./Avon) tallied 10 kills and four block assists.
Junior
Carrie Sherman (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) notched five kills and had a team-high seven blocks with six being block assists.
Freshman
Holly Wasmund (Avon, Ind./Avon) led the way for the Knights with 27 assists while sophomore
Mollie Heidenreich (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) added 17 assists. Wasmund also added a team-high three service aces.
The team gets back on the court when it heads to Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday at Luckey Arena in Marion, Ind. First serve is slated for 7 p.m.
