BURKESVILLE, Ky. - The Marian University men's golf team closed out the Mid-South Conference Fall Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at Dale Hollow State Park in Burkesville, Ky.
 
The Knights sat in fourth place after day one, but shot the day's best round to finish as the runner-up behind the University of the Cumberlands. The Knights lost by four strokes after carding a final round total of 294, which was three strokes ahead of Cumberlands, but not enough to earn the win.
The Knights tied with Trevecca Nazarene University with a 36-hole total of 601.
 
Freshman Robbi Koors (Greensburg, Ind./Greensburg) earned a tie for fourth place after he carded a 36-hole total of 148 (74-74) to lead the Knights in Kentucky.
 
Freshman Trey Pfund (Clarksville, Ind./Our Lady of Providence) came back from a first round 79 to shoot a one-under-par 71 on Wednesday to finish in ninth place with a 150. Freshman Preston Smith (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) finished tied for 10th place after he shaved five strokes from his first round 78 to card a 73 and finish with a 151.
 
Sophomore Sean Jones (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) finished in a tie for 20th place after he carded a 154 (76-78), while senior Luke Weber (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County) finished tied for 24th after he shot a 157 (81-76).
 
As individuals, senior Nick Olsen (White Pigeon, Mich./White Pigeon) and sophomore J.P. Hyden (North Vernon, Ind./Jennings County) finished in a tie for 33rd place. Olsen shot a 160 (79-81) while Hyden also finished with a 160 (80-80).
 
The Knights close the fall season with two tournament championships and two other top-five finishes.
