GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Marian University women's volleyball team swept the opening day of the 2009 Panther Invitational on the campus of Davenport University in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Friday night.
 
The Knights blew through Calumet College of St. Joseph in straight sets, 25-15, 25-13, 25-18, and swept Siena Heights University (Mich.), 25-21, 25-20, 25-16, to improve to 22-6 on the season.
 
In the nightcap, junior Sadie Dizney (Speedway, Ind./Speedway) led the Knights with 20 kills and a .548 attack percentage. She also tallied her second straight double-doubles with 10 digs in defense.
 
Senior Ashley Hanslits (Indianapolis, Ind./Bishop Chatard) added a team-high 14 digs in defense as well as seven kills.
 
Freshman Holly Wasmund (Avon, Ind./Avon) tallied 38 assists and seven digs for the Knights.
