INDIANAPOLIS - Two Marian University women's volleyball players were honored by the Mid-Central College Conference after a stellar week that saw the Knights finish 5-1 and improve to 23-7 on the season.
 
Freshman Holly Wasmund (Avon, Ind./Avon) earned a pair of awards after she was named MCC Setter of the Week and MCC Player of the Week. The Player of the Week honor is eligible for the NAIA National Player of the Week award.
 
Wasmund had a career week after she tallied 178 assists (9.37 per match) in six matches. She notched a career-high 53 assists in a 3-1 win over Spring Arbor University. She tallied five matches with 20+ assists and three matches with 30+ assists in leading the Knights to a 5-1 record on the week.
 
She only tallied 14 kills for the week in the attack, but notched 29 digs and five block assists in six matches. The honors are the first of Wasmund's career.
 
Junior Sadie Dizney (Speedway, Ind./Speedway) was named MCC HItter of the Week for the second time this season after another stellar week.
 
Dizney notched 62 kills in leading the Knights to a 5-1 week. She tallied two double-doubles on the week after she notched 13 kills and 10 digs against Spring Arbor University, and notched 20 kills and 10 digs against Siena Heights University at the Panther Invitational over the weekend. She also tallied 12 kills in a 3-0 defeat to Davenport University.
 
Dizney was named MCC Hitter of the Week on September 21.
