INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's basketball team opened the 11th annual Ken Elmendorf Memorial Tournament on Friday night with an emphatic 92-63 win over Trinity Christian College at the Physical Education Center.
The Knights (3-1) cruised into Saturday's championship game on the strength of five players scoring in double figures and by taking advantage of 20 TCC turnovers to the tune of 31 points.
They jumped out to a 14-2 lead in the first 6:31 and never looked back as they went into the locker room with a 19-point lead, 47-28, after out-scoring the Trolls 19-0 in points off turnovers.
The Knights out-scored the Trolls, 45-35, in the second half and coasted into the championship game with the 92-63 win. The Knights are looking for their 10th Elmendorf title in the tournament's 11-year history.
Sophomore
Alex Sylvester (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian) had the hot hand for the Knights as he notched his fourth straight 20-point game with a game-high 24 points on eight-of-nine shooting. He was also a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point range. He also grabbed four rebounds, dished out three assists, and had two steals.
Junior
Jordan Tucker (Kirklin, Ind./Clinton Central) hit for 17 points and was 4-for-5 from beyond-the-arc. He also added four rebounds.

Matt Allee (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood) tallied 11 points and grabbed a team-high eight rebounds. Junior
Anthony Furlin (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) and sophomore
Jameson Wheeler (Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield) added 10 points and a game-high five assists.
The Knights will take on Saint Ambrose University (Iowa), which was an 83-67 winner over IU-South Bend in the nightcap, in the title game at 3 p.m. TCC and IU-SB will battle in the consolation game at 1 p.m. on Saturday. Both games will feature
