INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University senior volleyball player
Lyndy Errett (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) was named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, the national office announced on Thursday.
Errett, who sat out the majority of the 2009 season due to injury, was the lone Knights volleyball player named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, and it is the third time she has been honored for outstanding academic achievement.
She is a four-year player for the Knights volleyball team and was spent her career as one of the defensive leaders until injury claimed the majority of this past season.
Errett was named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete last season for volleyball and again in the spring for track and field.
The honor is bestowed on those student-athletes who have achieved junior standing and have maintained a 3.5 GPA during their time at their respective institutions.
Her honor brings the total number of Marian University Scholar-Athletes to more than 260 since the award's inception.
