INDIANAPOLIS - The expectations have been set for the 2009-10 Marian University women's golf team as the Knights are ranked as the No. 16 team in the Preseason NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Top 25, the national office announced on Friday.
The Knights, who won their first team title this fall and placed no lower than seventh in any of their four tournaments, were ranked No. 20 in the final poll from last season. However, the No. 16 ranking is the highest in school history.
Rival Bethel College came it at No. 12 in the nation.
Head coach
Brett Cope expects big things from this team as senior
Angela Gauck (Greensburg, Ind./North Decatur) looks to battle for the NAIA national championship and the team looks for its first-ever trip to the national tournament.
The Knights kick off the spring season when they head to the NKU Spring Fling in Perry Park, Ky., on March 27 and 28.
