INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University sophomore and 2009 Mid-Central College Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Year
Lauren Gerbick (Dyer, Ind./Andrean) was named NAIA All-America honorable mention over the weekend.
Gerbick, a sophomore transfer, was named MCC Player of the Year after leading the Knights to their second straight MCC regular season championship and finished as the team's leading scorer.
She finished the season with a team-high 32 points after scoring 14 goals and dishing out four assists in 1421 minutes played. She started all 20 games for the Knights in a 17-2-1 season, which was the most wins in school history. Gerbick notched three match-winning goals and converted a pair of penalties for the Knights.
She was named MCC Offensive Player of the Week on on two occasions this past season the first coming on September 14 and the second coming on October 19.
The Knights finished the season as the MCC regular season champions with a 17-2-1 overall record and a 7-1 mark in conference play including a 1-0 win on the road at Indiana Wesleyan, which was the first in the program's 11-year history.
