INDIANAPOLIS - The 12-time collegiate national track cycling champion Marian University cycling team hosted a quartet of indoor time trials and the events were a resounding success.
Head coach
Dean Peterson said that the number of riders that came out for the final installment of the series eclipsed that of the prior dates.
Coach Peterson believes that this event will be a mainstay at Marian University and has an opportunity for extreme growth.
"This has been a lot of fun," said Peterson. "Each week the number rose and that was exciting. But, what was more exciting, was that each person that came out was genuinely excited to be riding and competing in the time trial series. It is a great event and we know that this will continue to grow in the future."
"By taking the event to the Clare gymnasium and involving the Marian University cyclists, Coach
Brett Stewart has taken last year's time trial series and added vibrancy, community, and great competition which people look forward to. Next year could easily see 75-100 riders per day, which will be great for the Indiana cycling community and great for the Marian University Cycling Team."
