TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Marian University men's track & field team traveled to Rose-Hulman on Saturday, where the Knights finished fifth of eight teams, with a team score of 49.
Sophomore
Robert Alderman (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia) had two top-five finishes for the Knights, including a fourth-place finish in the shot put (14.44m) and a fifth-place finish in the weight throw (14.27m). Also placing in the weight throw was junior
Derrelle Hankins (Terre Haute, Ind./South Vigo) in fourth with a throw of 14.43 meters.
Senior
Michael Foerster (Ferdinand, Ind./Forest Park) also contributed to the team score by placing second in the mile with a time of 4:25.06, and sixth in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 9:05.35. Just behind Foerster in the 3,000 was senior
Thomas Jeschke (Indianapolis, Ind./Decatur Central) at 9:19.41, which was good enough for seventh.
Other notable finishes include Junior
Jamell Dodd (Indianapolis, Ind./Vincennes) who finished in third place in the long jump with a leap of 6.42 meters and freshman
Taylor Maxey (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) in the 55-meter hurdles. He finished in fifth with a time of 8.12.
On Saturday, February 6, the Knights will travel to Upland, Ind.,for the Taylor Invitational.
