TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Marian University women's track & field team finished sixth of seven teams with a score of 45.50 at the 2010 Engineer Invitational on the campus of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology this past weekend.
 
Freshman Jaymee Schambers (Milton, Ind./Cambridge City Lincoln) had the highest individual finish of the day by finishing second in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 9.33. Schambers also finished seventh in the long jump (4.79m).
 
Junior transfer Patrice Fernandes (Indianapolis, Ind./Loara) also contributed to the Knights team total with a third-place finish in the 55-meter dash (7.73) and was on the 4x200 relay team of freshman Amy Walker (Frankfort, Ind./Clinton Central), junior Miriam Karwath (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport), and freshman Kristen Bogue (Milton Ind./Cambridge City Lincoln) that finished fourth with a time of 1:53.35.
 
Karwath also had a third-place finish in the 55-meter hurdles (9.35), and Bogue finished third in the high jump at 1.58 meters.
 
In the field events, senior Maureen Haaker (Arlington Heights, Ill./John Hersey) finished fifth with a throw of 13.00 meters, and senior Lyndy Errett (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) had a throw of 10.94 meters in the shot put that was good enough for a seventh-place finish.
 
The Knights will travel to Upland, Ind., on Saturday, February 6, for the Taylor Invitational.
