Head coach Ted Karras, Jr., inked eight on signing day as he hopes the Knights can improve on a 6-5 season in 2009.
INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head football coach Ted Karras, Jr., is proud to announce the National Signing Day commitments for 2010-11. Coach Karras and his staff have diligently recruited eight student-athletes that they believe will dedicate themselves to Marian University and to Knights football.
 
"We are really excited to have these young men join the Marian University football family," said Coach Karras. "In addition to their skills on the field, they are all good students and young men of high character."
 
Combined with the six transfers who committed last week, the 2010 recruiting class for Marian University stands at 14 student-athletes.
 
Below are the eight signings from National Signing Day 2010:

High School: Was an All-MIC selection…named All-Metro South…also earned All-Johnson County honors.
 
Zachariah Graves   |   OL   |   6-2   |   260   |   Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central
High School: Was named Warren Central's Pancake Award winner on three occasions…with earn a Core 40 diploma with academic honors.
 
Obed Jean   |   FB/LB   |   5-10   |   215   |   Delray Beach, Fla./Atlantic
High School: Was named All-Palm Beach Athletic Coastal Conference first team.
 
Adam Brown   |   RB   |   5-9   |   180   |   Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder
High School: Was named All-Greater Catholic League second team…was a three-year letter winner and two-year starter…tied the school record for touchdowns in a game with five.
 
Kyle Brockett   |   QB   |   6-3   |   185   |   Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran
High School: Was named All-State first team in Class A…was named All-City.
 
Tyler Kiel   |   OL   |   6-0   |   260   |   Fishers, Ind./Fishers
High School: Was an Associated Press All-State honorable mention…named All-Hoosier Crossroads Conference first team…was named Fishers High School Most Valuable Lineman.
 
Bryan Hughes   |   DB   |   5-8   |   170   |   Plainfield, Ind./Plainfield
High School: Was named All-Conference first team…also earned All-County honors.
 
David Hayden   |   LB   |   6-0   |   200   |   Logansport, Ind./Logansport
High School: Was named Associated Press and IFCA All-State at linebacker…was an All-Conference first team selection…named All-Loganland as well as All-Region…named team's Most Valuable Player.
 
The Knights will open their 2010 schedule at home when they play host to the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints on August 28. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m. at St.Vincent Health Field.
