INDIANAPOLIS - Two Marian University football players were honored for their outstanding achievement in the classroom in 2009 as they were named to the Mid-States Football Association All-Academic Team.

Redshirt junior John Pfifer (Greenwood, Ind./Greenwood) and junior Jeff McClure (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) each were named to the team for the first time in their careers.

Pfifer is a finance and accounting major who served as a wide receiver and return man for the Knights, while McClure is a marketing major who served as a wide receiver this season.

The MSFA honors student-athletes who have achieved junior standing and a 3.2 cumulative GPA during their career.
