WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Marian University men's track and field team traveled to West Lafayette, Ind., on Saturday where the Knights competed in a non-scored invitational at Purdue University.
 
Senior Michael Foerster (Ferdinand, Ind./Forest Park) became the third Knight to qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championships in March. Foerster finished in fourthplace in the mile run, with a time of 4:20.96. Senior Thomas Jeschke (Indianapolis, Ind./Decatur Central) finished not far behind in fifth-place with a personal best time of 4:34.64.
 
The Knights dominated the high jump, taking places two, three, and four. Freshman Taylor Maxey (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) and juniors Quintin Stewart (Tell City, Ind./Tell City) and Jacob Sullivan (Brookston, Ind./Joliet Junior College) each finished at 1.90 meters. Maxey also finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.50.
 
Sophomore Robert Alderman (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia) finished fourth in the shot put with a throw of 14.74 meters.
 
Foerster, Maxey, and Jeschke will travel to Johnson City, Tenn., for the NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships, which take place on March 4-6. The Knights will be back in action when they start their outdoor season at the Wabash Relays in Crawfordsville, Ind. on March 20.
