INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's basketball team, which enters the conference tournament as the No. 7 seed, saw three of its players receive conference honors as the Mid-College Conference announced its All-Conference ballot on Tuesday.
 
Junior Jordan Tucker (Kirklin, Ind./Clinton Central) was named All-Conference second team for the 2009-10 season. Tucker, who recently passed the 1,000 point mark for his career, has played in all 27 games for the Knights this season. He shot 41 percent (142-of-345) from the field this season and 32 percent (35-of-108) from beyond-the-arc. Tucker also led the team in scoring for the third year in a row with 418 points over the regular season, including a career-high 33 against Kuyper College on November 28.
 
Junior Brandon Malone (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) also received post season honors and was named to the All-Defensive Team. Malone averaged 3.7 rebounds and nearly a steal per game during the regular season. In addition to his defensive team honor, Malone was also named All-Conference honorable mention.
 
Also receiving All-Conference honorable mention honors was sophomore Alex Sylvester (Indianapolis, Ind./Perry Meridian). Sylvester ranks second on the team in total points (332) and average points (12.77). He also led the team in free-throw percentage, shooting 86 percent (54-of-61) from the line. Sylvester also recorded two double-doubles this season.
 
The Knights will begin their post-season play on Wednesday as they travel to No. 2-seeded Bethel College in Mishawaka, Ind. Tip is slated for 7 p.m. The game will air LIVE at www.muknights.com.
