Sophomore Rachel Kenney was named All-Conference honorable mention on Sunday.
INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University women's basketball team had one of its players honored by the Mid-Central College Conference, the league office announced on Sunday.
 
Marian University sophomore Rachel Kenney (Mooresville, Ind./Mooresville) was the lone Knight on the list. Kenney was named All-Conference honorable mention. Kenney led the team in scoring this season, averaging 11.2 points per game going 57 percent (78-of-136) from the field. She also averaged six rebounds per game and led the Knights in blocks and steals per game, with nearly a block per game and 1.6 steals per contest.
 
Kenney recorded one double-double on the season against Bethel College on January 9. For the performance that week, Kenney was the first Marian University women's basketball player in school history to be honored as NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Player of the Week.
 
Kenney and the Knights take on No. 1-seeded Indiana Wesleyan University on Friday in Marion, Ind., in the semifinals of the MCC Tournament. Tip is at 7 p.m. and the game will air LIVE at www.muknights.com.
