INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University women's golf team dropped one spot in the first edition of the 2010 NAIA Women's Golf Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Friday.
The Knights open the campaign ranked as the No. 17 team in the nation, but fell one spot after closing the fall at No. 16.
The team won its first event during the fall when the Knights captured the Hanover Invitational title in September. They finished in the top 10 in every event in which they were entered, and senior
Angela Gauck (Greensburg, Ind./North Decatur) captured medalist honors in four of the seven events in which the Knights competed.
Oklahoma City University earned the No. 1 spot for the seventh straight poll, while fellow independent and state foe Bethel College checked in at No. 14.
They open the spring campaign when they head to the Northern Kentucky University Spring Fling in Perry Park, Ky., on March 27 and 28.
