INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head men's and women's bowling coach
Chad Hardin is proud to announce the seventh signing for the inaugural season of Knights bowling.
Jimmy Kraushaar, who will graduate from Boone Grove High School this spring, became the seventh bowler to commit to the Knights program for the 2010-11 season.
"Jimmy is a very accomplished bowler with quite the high school record," said Hardin. "He had a terrific high school career and will definitely make a strong contribution to the first season of Knights bowling. We are excited to have Jimmy coming to Marian University."
Kraushaar is a three-time All-Area selection and was named All-State third team in 2008-09 after he earned a fifth-place finish in the Indiana State Singles competition. In addition to his All-Area selections, he was named All-Conference on three occasions and was the conference Player of the Year in 2009-10. He maintained a conference-high average of 212, the conference high game (300), and the conference high series (545) this past season. During his freshman campaign, Kraushaar was selected as the Suburban Conference Newcomer of the Year.
He holds the second-highest average (202.1) in conference history and is the first Boone Grove bowler in Boone Grove High School history to notch a perfect game. He is also the first Suburban Conference bowler to record multiple perfect games in high school competition and has two IHSB-sanctioned 300 games.
Kraushaar was the 2006-07 sectional champion and a two-time runner-up. In his junior and senior seasons, he was a semi-state qualifier in the individual competition and qualified for the state finals as a junior. He was a part of three conference championship teams, two sectional championship teams, and a semi-state qualifying team. This season, he was named the team's Most Valuable Player and was the team's Most Improved Player last year.
On the USBC circuit, Kraushaar was a Teen Masters national finalist in 2009 and is a two-time Quad County Youth Bowling Association scratch all events champion.
Kraushaar becomes the seventh bowler to compete to the startup program at Marian University. The Knights will begin competing next fall.
