JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Marian University men's track and field squad had a solid showing at the 2010 NAIA National Indoor Track and Field Championships over the weekend in Johnson City, Tenn.
Three Knights qualified for the meet and senior
Michael Foerster (Ferdinand, Ind./Forest Park) notched a career-best performance in the men's one-mile run. Foerster, who is a two-time nationals qualifier, earned an 11th-place finish, just missing finals, with a time of 4:22.17. He just missed qualifying for finals by eight-tenths of a second.
Freshman
Taylor Maxey (Indianapolis, Ind./Roncalli) ran an 8.57 in the 60-meter hurdles, which was seven one-hundredths of a second off his season-best time. He finished in 25th place.
Senior
Thomas Jeschke (Indianapolis, Ind./Decatur Central) rounded out the three qualifiers after he competed in the men's 3000-meter run. Jeschke earned a time of 8:55.68 to finished in 18th place.
The Knights kick off the outdoor season on March 20 when they head to the Wabash Relays in Crawfordsville, Ind.
