FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Marian University men's tennis team dropped a hard-fought match, on Tuesday afternoon, to Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, Ind., 8-1. The loss dropped the Knights to 6-11 on the season.
The Knights' lone victory on the day came from the No. 3 doubles team of junior
Brice Fairchild (New Castle, Ind./Tri) and freshman
Kyle Luckiewicz (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawerence North). The pair defeated their opponent s 8-5.
In other doubles action, the No. 1 doubles team of freshmen
Andrew Voss (West Lafayette, Ind./West Lafayette) and
Will Dixon (Jeffersonville, Ind./Jeffersonville) lost, 8-5, and at No. 2 doubles, senior
Joe Nelson (Indianapolis, Ind./Cathedral) and sophomore
Matt Hostetler (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) pulled six points in an 8-6 defeat.
In exhibition singles, Nelson posted a victory, 8-6, and sophomore
Austin Hall (Indianapolis, Ind./Lutheran) defeated his opponent, 8-4.
The Knights are back in action on Thursday as they travel to St. Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Ind., for a 3 p.m. first serve.
