INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University women's tennis team fell to NCAA Division I IUPUI, 7-2, at the Indianapolis Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon. The Knights are now 13-6 on the season.
 
Sophomore Alyson O'Conner was a part of both wins after she teamed with sophomore Maria Berry to earn an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles. She also was able to earn the victory at No. 4 singles, 6-3, 6-0, to give the Knights two victories.
 
Junior Dana Reynolds and freshman Tiffany Schendel fell at No. 1 doubles, 2-8, while freshman Amy Nocton and sophomore Samantha Jo Crump fell at No. 3 doubles, 3-8.
 
In singles action, Reynolds dropped her match at No. 1 singles, 2-6, 1-6, while Schendel fell at No. 2 singles, 0-6, 1-6. Berry dropped her match at No. 3 singles, 3-6, 0-6, while junior Alyssa Richard fell at No. 5 singles, 2-6, 0-6. Freshman Casey DeLucenay closed out the match with a 3-6, 0-6 defeat at No. 6 singles.
 
Freshman Hillary Carpenter fell by a 3-8 count in exhibition singles competition.
 
MU will return home to the Marian University Tennis Courts for the final two matches of the 2009-10 season. The Knights will host Cedarville University on April 8 at 3 p.m. before hosting Ohio Dominican University on April 13, in the season finale, at 3 p.m.
