INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University baseball picked up its second honor of the season after senior
Ricky Parrish was named Mid-Central College Conference Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 11, the league office announced on Monday.
Parrish led the Knights to a 6-2 week after he finished undefeated in two outings during the week.
The senior lefthander threw a pair of complete games and went 2-0 on the week with wins over MCC rivals Bethel College and Goshen College.
Last Tuesday, Parrish threw a complete game in which he allowed two earned runs, scattered seven hits, walked three and struck out eight to lead the Knights to a 10-5 victory over Bethel College.
On Saturday, he rounded out the stellar week with a second complete game. This time he threw five innings (shortened due to run rule), allowed two earned runs, scattered six hits, walked one and struck out five in an 18-2 victory over Goshen College.
Parrish currently owns a 4-2 record with a 4.30 ERA in 37.2 innings of work. He has a team-high five complete games, two shutouts, has allowed just nine walks and has struck out 29 batters. He also has one save this season.
The Knights head to #RV Spring Arbor University on Tuesday for a key MCC matchup. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
