TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Marian University women's track and field team
traveled to Terre Haute, Ind., on Friday where it competed in the
Rose-Hulman Institute Twilight meet. The women finished seventh out of
12 teams.The Knights' top finish of the day came from the 4 x 100 relay team of sophomore
Nicole Svorinic, freshmen
Jaymee Schambers and
Amy Walker, and junior
Patrice Fernandes. The team placed second with a time of 51:34.
Schambers also placed fourth in the 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 16:35, and Fernandes earned a fifth place finish in the 200-meters, finishing in 27:14.
In the field events, freshman
Chelsea Phend-Yap earned a third-place finish in the javelin with a toss of 27.15, and senior
Maureen Haaker placed fourth in the hammer with a season-best throw of 41.15.
The Knights will travel to Upland, Ind., this weekend to compete at Taylor University.
