SILVIS, Ill. - The Marian University men's golf team struggled through day one of the 2010 NAIA Men's Golf National Championships on Tuesday at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.
 
The Knights carded a 31-over-par 315 and sit in 26th place after the first 18 holes of the 72-hole tournament with a 54-hole cut.
 
Freshman and Mid-Central College Conference Player of the Year Trey Pfund carded a five-over-par 76 on the first day of action, while freshman Robbi Koors carded a six-over-par 77.
 
Senior Luke Weber shot an eight-over-par 79 on the first day, while sophomores Preston Smith and Sean Jones each carded a 12-over-par 83 on day one.
 
The Knights are looking to make the cut after three days of competition as the tournament continues with round two on Wednesday.
