INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head men's and women's bowling coach
Chad Hardin is proud to announce another commitment for the inaugural season of Knights bowling.
Alicia Simpson, who will graduate from Troy High School, committed to the inaugural season of Marian University bowling on Tuesday.
"I am very pleased to add Alicia to our program," said Hardin. "She has a great deal of experience in high level competition. This will be beneficial for her at the college level. She also is very outgoing and has a great personality. She will fit in well with our team and we are excited."
Simpson was the team's Player of the Year on three occasions and was a four-time All-Conference selection. She was a two-year team captain who earned four letters in bowling. She finished fourth in the state as an individual on three occasions and finished fifth in 2010.
Her team was the state runner-up in 2009 and she was the 10th-grade singles tournament champion in 2008 with a 1233. She was also the Buffalo Wild Wings, Fox's Pizza and Penn Station Player of the Week. As a junior, she tallied a high-game of 288 and topped that with a 289 as a senior.
Her career-high series is a 715 and she has participated in league bowling since she was five years of age.
The Knights will begin competition in their inaugural season this fall.
