Dennis Lentz, who will graduate from Southport High School, committed to Marian University late last week for the inaugural season of Knights bowling.

"We are very happy to be adding Dennis to our program," said Hardin. "He is a very talented bowler and if he continues to work on his game, he will be competing for a spot with our top team."

Lentz was named All-State second team as a senior and was a two-time team captain who finished his high school career with a 222 average as a senior. He helped lead his team to its first sectional title as a freshman, regional title as a sophomore, and conference championship as a junior. As a senior he finished second with a 212.24 average and finished fifth in sectionals. He won his regional title and advanced to the semi-state individual competition.

During the 2008-09 season he qualified for the Master's Tournament where he finished ninth. He also was named an Indiana All-Star and was part of the team that defeated the Kentucky All-Stars. He was a four-time Pepsi State Finalist and was a 2009-10 Indianapolis USBC Board of Directors Youth Representative as wellas the ISUSBCYA Youth Board of Directors Sargent at Arms.

Lentz committed to the Knights for the inaugural season of Marian University bowling and is one of more than 25 commitments for the inaugural season.
