INDIANAPOLIS - Five Marian University men's and women's track and field student-athletes were named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes, the national office released on Saturday.

Senior Michael Foerster headlines the list after he earned his second track and field Scholar-Athlete honor and sixth overall. He is one of the first to earn six Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors as a competitor in three varsity sports at the intercollegiate level. He set the school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and was a national qualifier.

Senior Lyndy Errett earned her fourth Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete honor as a thrower for the women's team. Errett is the school record-holder in the women's shot put, women's discus throw and women's hammer throw and was a defensive specialist on the women's volleyball team for all four years.

Senior Jill Kuntz earned her fourth honor as she was named for the second time in track and field and earned her second honor in cross country in the fall. Kuntz competed all four years in both women's cross country and track and field as a distance runner.

Senior Kyle Hinkle earned his third honor after competing in his fifth year, while senior Kyle Murray was named to the team for the fourth time.

Murray had a stellar career at Marian University as a national qualifier on multiple occasions and a school record-holder in the 1,500-meter run and 5,000-meter run. He finished his career as a conference champion in cross country and an NAIA All-American in cross country.

The Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete award is given to student-athletes who have attained at least junior standing and have maintained a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
