INDIANAPOLIS - The two-time defending Mid-Central College Conference champion Marian University women's soccer team has released the 2010 schedule as the Knights go in search for a third straight conference title.

The Knights open with an exhibition against NCAA Division II University of Indianapolis before opening the regular season on Aug. 27 against Cedarville University. The Knights defeated the Yellow Jackets by a 1-0 count to start a 15-match winning streak in 2009.

They play host to the MU Labor Day Classic when Cardinal Stritch University visits St.Vincent Health Field on Sept. 4 before the Knighst take on the University of St. Francis (Ill.) Fighting Saints on Sept. 5. The Knights defeated the Saints by a 6-1 count last season.

The first road trip is to Hanover on Sept. 8, which MU defeated 2-0 in 2008, before returning home for a battle with Georgetown College on Sept. 12. The Knights defeated the Tigers 4-0 on the road in 2009.

MU alternates a road game and home game again when it heads to Indiana Tech on Sept. 18 before returning to SVHF to take on Rose-Hulman on Sept. 22. A pair of road trips close out the month of September as the Knights open MCC play.

The make or break point of the 2010 campaign will come at the end of September and in the first week of October as the Knights will take on three perennial powers and a up-and-coming foe looking to play spoiler.

The Knights first hit the road for a pair when they head to Chicago on Sept. 25 to take on Saint Xavier University and continue their road swing with a trip to Winona Lake, Ind., to open MCC play at the up-and-coming Grace College Lancers on Sept. 28. A return to SVHF, where the Knights are 19-2-1 over the past two seasons, is welcomed as MU plays host to perennial MCC contender Spring Arbor University on Oct. 2 before they head to Marion, Ind., for a showdown with Indiana Wesleyan University on Oct. 6. Last season, the teams split with IWU taking the NAIA tournament bid in the MCC Tournament title match.

Back home to SVHF for the Knights when Saint Mary's College comes to town on Oct. 10, but they head back out on the bus to Goshen College on Oct. 12. A pair of MCC contests at SVHF are just what the Knights might be looking for as Taylor (Oct. 16) and the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) (Oct. 20) come to Indianapolis. A trip to Bethel on Oct. 23 is the prelude to the season-ending matchup at St.Vincent Health Field on Oct. 26 when Huntington University comes to the Knights for Senior Night.

A pair of conference titles means that a bright red target is on the backs of the Knights and a tough schedule greets the Knights in 2010.
