INDIANAPOLIS - Marian University head volleyball coach Dan Findley is proud to announce the fifth commitment for the 2010-11 season of Knights volleyball.
Kreigha Henney, who will graduate from Columbus East High School, committed to coach Findley and the Knights program recently as the fifth commitment for next season.
"Kreigha is an outstanding middle that is a great fit for Marian University and our volleyball program," said Findley. "She is mobile at the net and a very strong blocker. Her energy and enthusiasm are contagious and we are excited to have her join our program."
Henney is a three-year letter winner in volleyball and a two-year letter winner in basketball. She was a two-time All-Area selection in volleyball and a two-time All-Area honorable mention in basketball. She served as the team captain for both teams for one season and was a two-time Mental Attitude Award recipient.
She held the highest hitting percentage for two seasons and registered the team's most blocks and kills in a single season and was named Rookie of the Year as a sophomore.
She was named to the tryout for the All-South All-Star team and was a member of a three-time sectional championship-winning volleyball team. She has also spent five years with the Circle City Volleyball Club and competed in the Junior Olympic National Championships each of the past three years.
A member of the National Honor Society, Henney was highly involved at Columbus East as a student government officer, peer mentor and peer council member.
Henney joins the Knights volleyball program which is coming off a season in which they tied the school record for wins and finished second in the Mid-Central College Conference.
