INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University men's soccer team opened the 2010 season at St.Vincent Health Field in its annual alumni match. The alumni managed the 1-0 victory off a goal from current assistant coach Zach Brown.

The alumni team consisted of several members of the 2005 Mid-Central College Conference Championship team, as well as recent graduates Gabriel Peters, Mark Manning, and Lance Lukens.

MU thought it had struck first when a shot from junior Fabricio Lemus hit the inside of both posts and was cleared off the goal line.

The Knights were able to hold a talented group of alumni to a scoreless first half, but could not keep Brown from finding the back of the net just past the outstretched arms of the nearly perfect goalkeeper in junior James Dulhanty.

MU will open its regular season at St.Vincent Health Field on Wednesday when it plays host to Robert Morris University at 7:30 p.m. Robert Morris took last year's meeting by a 3-1 margin. Listen LIVE at www.muknights.com.
