INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University women's bowling team earned its highest-ever finish and its first-ever top 10 finish at the 2010 Storm Brickyard Classic at Western Bowl on Saturday and Sunday.
The Knights on the "A" team earned a seventh-place finish out of 22 teams with 7,705 total pins and a 46-game average of 167.5. MU finished just 20 pins out of sixth place.
Freshman
Lauren Gunderson led the Knights with a 12th-place finish after she tallied 1,089 total pins and had a six-game average of 181.5, while freshman
Shannon DeWitt finished in 57th place with a total of 922 and an average of 153.7.

Alicia Simpson earned a 69th-place finish with 847 total pins and a five-game average of 169.4, while freshman
Elizabeth Bischoff finished in 74th place with 816 pins and a five-game average of 163.2.

Miriah Kingston finsihed in 91st place with 677 total pins in four games, while freshman
Melissa Mecagni finished in 109th place with 466 pins in three games.
The Marian University "B" team earned a 10th-place finish with a total of 7,481 pins and a 46-game average of 162.6. It is the first top-10 finish for the "B" team.

Samantha Grimes finished in 16th place with a total of 1,057 pins and a six-game average of 176.2, while freshman Alex Hodson finished in 19th place with a total of 1,033 and an average of 172.2.

Lanie Bledsoe finished in 32nd place with 1,001 pins and a 166.8 average, while freshman
Kelli Marx finished in 33rd place with 996 total pins and a 166.0 average.

Stephanie Edwards finished in 57th place with 922 total pins and an average of 153.7 to give the "B" Knights their best-ever finish.
The Knights will look to build on their continued success at the Orange and Black Classic this weekend in Beavercreek, Ohio. The two-day event will take place at Beaver-vu-Bowl and will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
