INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University volleyball team had its eight-match winning streak snapped at the hands of Grace College in three sets, 19-25, 16-25, 22-25, on Senior Night at the Physical Education on Wednesday night.

The Knights fell to 14-15 overall and 9-6 in the Mid-Central College Conference, while Grace improved to 15-14 overall and 8-7 in the MCC.

Junior Kelsee Evans led the Knights with four kills in the first set, but the Knights could not seize momentum from the Lancers as they opened quickly in the first frame and earned a 25-19 win.

The second set saw the Knights fall behind 9-1 and never recover as they could not any closer than three for the rest of the set on the way to a 25-16 defeat. Senior Sadie Dizney led the Knights with four kills in the set, while junior Brittany Miller, current MCC Libero of the Week, had a team-high six digs in the set.

The third set saw the Knights fall behind quickly again, but they were able to come back and take an 11-10 lead. The teams traded points until the Knights tied the match at 17-17. They continued to trade points before Grace was able to take a 22-20 lead. They finished the match with a kill and a block to earn the 25-22 win and sweep the match. Evans led the Knights with seven kills in the set, while senior Carrie Sherman had five kills.

Evans led the Knights with a match-high 12 kills, while Sherman and Dizney, who were honored along with senior Danielle Perry prior to the match, added seven and six kills, respectively. Sophomore Holly Wasmund tallied 19 assists, while Miller finished with 11 digs.

MU will head to DePauw University (20-11) on Saturday for a match against the NCAA Division III Tigers. First serve is slated for 1 p.m. at the Lilly Physical Education and Recreation Center.
