WINONA LAKE, Ind. - The Marian University women's basketball came up short against Mid-Central College Conference opponent Grace College on Saturday afternoon. The Lancers defeated the Knights, 62-46, at the Orthopedic Capital Center in Winona Lake, Ind. The loss dropped the Knights' MCC record to 1-2 and their overall record to 5-4. GC improved its record to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in MCC play.
Junior Rachel Kenney
led the Knights in scoring with 14 points (5-of-14) and pulled down four rebounds. Fellow junior Emily Smithson
chipped in with nine points (3-for-7).
Senior Anjellica Rospond
had a game-high nine boards, in a game in which the Knights out-rebounded Grace by a 44-36.
Grace was able to convert for 13 points off of 20 MU turnovers and out-shot the Knights 38 percent (24-of-63) to 20 percent (18-for-61).
The Knights are back in action December 10 and 11 as they travel to the Calumet-St. Joseph Tournament. MU will take on Ashford University on Friday at 7:30 p.m. for the first game of the tournament.
