CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. - The Marian University women's track
and field team traveled to Wabash College to compete in the Wabash Alumni Meet
on Saturday afternoon for their first meet of the season.
In the unscored meet, a pair of
Knights took home first-place finishes. Freshman
Lauren Borchelt won the
800-meter run for MU in a time of 2:28.68, while senior
Adrienne Shepherd won
the 3,000-meter run in a time of 11:46.
Freshman
Samantha Walsh also had
an impressive day on the track for the Knights. Walsh placed fourth in the one-mile
run with a time of 6:28.
Knights' freshman
Kassandra Sprinkle led the way in the field events at the meet. She placed second in the
shot put with a hurl of 11.77 meters. Fellow freshman
Lauren Hacker earned
herself a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a leap of 1.48 meters.
MU is back in action on Saturday as they travel to the
Rose-Hulman Engineer Classic in Terre
Haute, Ind.
