TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Marian University women's track and field team traveled to Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday to compete in the Pacesetter Invitational at Indiana State University. MU picked up a number of impressive performances in the midst of NCAA Division I talent.
Sophomore
Whitley Emerson led the Knights with the highest finish of the day as she picked up a fourth-place finish in the javelin, with a hurl of 30.51 meters.
Freshmen
Lauren Borchelt and
Samantha Walsh, along with the 4x400 relay team of Borchelt, seniors
Adrienne Shepherd and
Megan Egenolf and sophomore
Amy Walker all picked up seventh-place finishes for MU. Borchelt finished the 800 meter run in a time of 2:24.91 and Walsh posted a 12:57.17 mark in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. The Knights' relay team posted a time of 4:10.71.
Walker also finished 11th in the 400 meter dash (1:01.13), while Shepherd finished 12th in the 1,500 meters (5:02.70). Senior Kristen Sordelet also picked up a 13th-place finish in the high jump (1.47m).
MU is back in action on Saturday of the Mid-Central College Conference meet to be held at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
