SPRING ARBOR, Mich. - The Marian University volleyball team made it five straight victories as the Knights opened Mid-Central College Conference play with a thrilling, come-from-behind five-set victory over Spring Arbor University on Wednesday night.
 
The Knights dropped the first two exciting sets 21-25 and 23-25 before coming back to win the third set, 25-23. MU earned the victory with convincing 25-14 and 15-9 wins in sets four and five, respectively, to win its fifth straight match to move to 5-1 on the year.
 
Sophomore Becky Gramer led the Knights with her first career double-double as she notched a match-high 14 kills and had 10 digs in defense. She also added two service aces for the Knights.
Senior Brittany Miller also had a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs. She also notched three blocks (two solo, two assists).
 
Junior Ashley Francis also had an outstanding evening as she posted a match-high 14 kills and added two service aces. She also notched five solo blocks and two block assists to lead the Knights with six total blocks.
 
Sophomore Kacie Kelly added a team-high 41 assists, while sophomore Jacklyn Dizney added 10 digs and sophomore Karli Williamson had 14 assists.
 
The Knights are now 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the MCC and will head to Bethel College for another MCC matchup on Friday night. First serve takes place at 7 p.m. from Mishawaka, Ind.
