UPLAND, Ind. and MOUNT VERNON, Ohio - The Marian University volleyball team split a pair of Mid-Central College Conference matches on Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The Knights fell at No. 15-ranked Taylor University, 21-25, 14-25, 24-26, before they hit the road to MCC newbie Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) and earned a 26-24, 25-18, 25-15 win. They are now 7-4 on the season and 3-2 in MCC play.
 
On Friday night, the Knights fell at 15th-ranked Taylor University as sophomore Becky Gramer led the MU attack with eight kills. Sophomore Morgan Merrill added seven kills for the Knights. Sophomore Kacie Kelly tallied 22 assists and 10 digs, while sophomore Katie Kaiser also notched 10 digs in defense.
 
Saturday afternoon was a much different story as the Knights swept MVNU on the road. Senior Brittany Miller notched a double-double in leading the Knights. She tallied a match-high 14 kills and had 16 digs in defense.
 
Gramer added 10 kills, while junior Jaymee Schambers had a match-high 29 digs. Kelly added 21 assists, while sophomore Karli Williamson added 13 assists.
 
Sophomore Jacklyn Dizney added 16 digs, while Kaiser added 15 digs of her own. Junior Ashley Francis led the Knights with six blocks, including two solo blocks.
 
The Knights will return home on Wednesday night when they play host to Grace College at the Physical Education Center. First serve is slated for 7 p.m., and LIVE STATISTICS will be available at www.muknights.com.
