HUNTINGTON, Ind. - The Marian University volleyball team recovered from a defeat earlier in the week to earn a four-set victory over Mid-Central College Conference rival Huntington University, 25-17, 21-25, 25-17, 25-15, in Huntington, Ind., on Friday night.
 
The Knights improved to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in the MCC, while the Foresters dropped to 3-10 on the year and 0-7 in MCC play.
 
Sophomore Morgan Merrill led the Knights' attack with a team-high 10 kills, while junior Ashley Francis added eight kills. Senior Kelsee Evans notched six kills for the Knights, while sophomore Kacie Kelly had a team-high 20 assists. Sophomore Karli Williamson also added 11 assists for the Knights.
 
Senior Brittany Miller inched closer to the MU career record for digs after she had nine to lead the Knights in defense. She is now just six digs shy of setting the school record.
 
Francis also added five total blocks (two solo, three assists) for the Knights in defense.
 
The Knights head to Indiana Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon for a 3 p.m. first serve at Luckey Arena in Marion, Ind.
