INDIANAPOLIS - The Marian University volleyball team picked up its first conference weekly honor, the league announced on Monday.

Senior middle hitter Kelsee Evans was named Mid-Central College Conference Hitter of the Week as well as Player of the Week for her performance in the Knights' only match of the week, a four-set victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday.

Evans had a .750 attack percentage in the lone match and had a career-high 19 kills to just one error. She also tallied one assist, four digs and three block assists to lead the Knights in their first-ever conference home win over the Cougars.

She is the first MU player to earn both honors since she earned the award last season on Oct. 18, 2010.

The Knights head to the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) on Wednesday night for a 7 p.m. first serve at the Hutzell Athletic Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
